Dear Parents

Thank you so much for getting your boys to school on time and for making sure that they look neat and tidy.  Just a reminder that they need to be in winter uniform from 1 May.  Grade R boys do not wear ties and long sleeved shirts but they do wear long grey socks and black lace up school shoes. Grade 1 and 2 boys wear long sleeved shirts and ties, with long grey socks and black lace up shoes.

Our physical literacy programme is in full swing and your boys may have told you that they have been crawling around like Spiderman or jumping like frogs during the morning!  We are excited to implement this programme during our school day. It has been carefully designed and is monitored by the Sport Science Institute to strengthen and improve core stability, endurance, shoulder girdle stability and numerous other areas of physical development.

Well done to our super star class award winners this week:

Athenkosi Nqayi For completing his tasks neatly and on time this week.

Finn Moran for applying himself diligently to the task at hand.

Matthew Haller For very neat work in his book.

Michael Mafunda For doing neat and colourful work in his books.

Daniel Mihalik For his excellent effort to work neatly in his new lined book.

Rohan Ganyeke For his excellent improvement to complete his tasks neatly.

William Heath For his remarkable behaviour in the classroom.

Our sport timetable started this week.  By now you would know when and where practises are being held and being a new programme, things should start to settle down by next week.  Please make sure your boys have the correct kit for the selected sport.  Please do not forget to email/write a note to the teacher should boys need to be excused from a particular sport.  I do need to highlight that play dates and birthday parties are not reasonable excuses to miss a sport practise.  If you are signed up to attend a sport, you need to be there.  Should the weather be doubtful, a decision will be made at 12 o clock and parents will be notified to either pick children up or they will be supervised by the coach for the duration of the normal practise time.

Your boys are getting bigger now, so please just remember to adjust the lunch in their lunch boxes. They may need a little extra to eat, particularly on the days that they have sport after school.

We have started our knitting campaign.  Thank you to the PA for selling wool and knitting needles.  They will be there next week as well.  Please, if you know how, start introducing your boys to knitting.

Library times have shuffled around a little.  I will ask the Grade heads to let you know if your particular library day has changed.

In the meantime, have a wonderful long weekend.  Next week is a short week but as always, packed full of exciting activities.
