Dear  Parents

As we end May and charge ahead into June, warmer clothing, the darker mornings and beautiful sunrises are just part of our morning routine. Please ensure that your son has a school jersey in his bag at all times.

This week our boys will have individual and class photographs taken. Please make sure their hair is neat and tidy. We enjoyed a wonderful Ascension Day service in the chapel on Thursday. Our Grade 1 and 2 boys joined the Prep to celebrate this special occasion.

Our last Saturday of tag rugby was a great success, despite the drizzle. Thank you to all the families who have supported our Saturday slots. We hope to still see you on and around the field on a Friday afternoon at 1pm.

This week the boys ran cross-country at Heideveld. All the participants are doing really well. They are also learning what it requires to be a true sportsman. Sportsmanship and the ability to win humbly and lose gracefully are both skills that our boys are learning fast.

23 June

Mini tag tournament @ Bishops.

Last day of afternoon activities/sports.

It is so exciting to hear the rehearsals happening after tag rugby on a Friday afternoon. The excitement is mounting and the boys are doing an amazing job! The wardrobe team are in action and await replies from those who offered their help. Mrs Carmen van Zyl/ Mrs Ashleigh Osborne will be in contact with you shortly if you offered to assist with makeup.

Please remember that the uniform requirement for boys at the Pre-Prep is white sports shoes/takkies. We kindly ask that you ensure that boys wear these together with plain white ankle socks.

There is an enormous amount of unmarked clothing lying around, particularly tracksuit tops and pants. Please ensure that all your sons clothing is clearly marked so that we can return it to you.

Library is on a Tuesday and Thursday. Please remind your boys to return their books and bring their library bags to school on the correct days.

Grade N and R is a part of Bishops and requires the same expectations. We therefore ask that boys have haircuts in line with the expectations outlined at the Pre-Prep. No fashion haircuts permitted e.g. shaved sides and long fringes. Please respect our request and keep boys hair short and tidy.

We once again ask that parents do not wait outside the classrooms for their boys at the end of the day. The two pick up points are outside the front of the school and up at the hall entrance gate. Please refrain from waiting where boys can see you as they become quite confused and the teachers are trying to finish up the day.

Mrs Rheeder is off for the next 10 days. Please contact Mrs Nureen Maged at nmaged@bishops.org.za with any queries.

Sure Bishops Travel would like to inform all parents that we have 2 full-time consultants available at the Travel Agency next to the School Shop. Karen Hoard and Carol Maasch have vast experience between them and they can advise/book any leisure travel including Club Med, Beachcomber etc. please give them a try when next at the College Campus.

We trust you had a wonderful, restful weekend. Although we are enjoying the wonderful sunny days, we do wish for some rain to alleviate the terrible drought we are experiencing. May the week ahead hold special family time for you all.

Our theme, RESPECT is ongoing. Please engage with your boys about respect for others, towards adults and parents and for belongings (both theirs and others).

Yours sincerely,
